A Stone’s Throw Away – Einen Steinwurf Entfernt
Monika Linhard shows her expansive installations, often with movement and light, in exhibitions all over the world. In addition, the artist is also a collector. There is always a free space in her studio where she arranges everyday objects, hand models, material assemblages and found objects into enigmatic compositions. In „South America is just a stone’s throw away“, she poetically assembles the cut-out of a printed cardboard box, a stone and yellow adhesive tape seemingly effortlessly.
Ihre raumgreifenden Installationen, häufig mit Bewegung und Licht, präsentiert Monika Linhard in Ausstellungen weltweit. Daneben ist die Künstlerin auch eine Sammlerin. Immer befindet sich in ihrem Atelier eine freie Fläche, auf der sie Alltägliches, Handmodelle, Materialassemblagen und Gefundenes zu rätselhaften Kompositionen arrangiert. Bei „Südamerika liegt nur einen Steinwurf entfernt“ fügt sie scheinbar mühelos den Ausschnitt einer bedruckten Kartonage, einen Stein und gelbes Klebeband poetisch zusammen.
