Already as an art student in the 1980s, at the Art Academy in Munich, I was fascinated and also influenced by the artist with his ideas and his art. My eye was sharpened for the border areas of art, for materials that were previously unfamiliar to art and for the work on social sculpture.

The „Essenzen Treffen“ from 1992 takes place on a white background. On the left side, coming into the picture from above, are clearly set colours in the same brushstroke. Within a given form, a system of order, pattern or ornament, are the primary colours yellow, red, blue and black, yellow. The right side is dominated by two gestural, informal patches of colour in ochre and blue, with freely placed lines below.
The materials, pigments, graphite, binders are essences that meet here in completely different painting methods and language, do not actually fit together and yet enter into a dialogue, a kind of conversation. Contrary to the traditional approach to materials in painting, a kind of border crossing in the Beuysian sense has become visible here.
Life
With the vision of „social sculpture“ in mind, I founded the art project „Art in Schloss Homburg“ 20 years ago. Within this project I organise exhibitions and the annual Schloss Homburg Summer Academy. We maintain a cooperation with FIU, Free International University. FIU was founded by Joseph Beuys and others in 1973 and the idea has been continued informally since 1988. I am a member of IKG, Internationales Künstlergremium, founded in 1976 by Beuys and others. This is an association of artists internationally, 240 so far, who support each other, network and also get involved politically.

Bereits als Kunststudentin in den 1980er Jahren, an der Kunstakademie in München, hat mich der Künstler mit seinen Ideen und seiner Kunst fasziniert und auch beeinflußt. Mein Blick wurde geschärft für die Grenzbereiche der Kunst, für Materialien, die bisher für die Kunst ungewohnt waren und für die Arbeit an der Sozialen Plastik.

Das »Essenzen Treffen« von 1992 spielt sich auf weißem Grund ab. Auf der linken Seite, von oben in das Bild kommend, sind klar gesetzte Farben in gleichem Pinselduktus. Innerhalb einer gegebenen Form ein Ordnungssystem, Muster oder Ornament befinden sich die Grundfarben Gelb, Rot, Blau und Schwarz, Gelb. Die rechte Seite wird dominiert von zwei gestischen, informellen Farbflecken in Ocker und Blau, darunter frei gesetzte Linien.
Die Materialien, Pigmente, Graphit, Bindemittel sind Essenzen, die hier in völlig unterschiedlicher Malweise und Sprache aufeinandertreffen, eigentlich nicht zueinander passen und dennoch einen Dialog eingehen, eine Art Gespräch führen. Entgegen der traditionellen Vorgehensweise mit den Materialien in der Malerei ist hier eine Art Grenzüberschreitung im Beuys’schen Sinne sichtbar geworden.
Leben
Mit der Vision der »Sozialen Plastik« im Hinterkopf, habe ich vor 20 Jahren das Kunstprojekt »Kunst in Schloss Homburg« gegründet. Innerhalb dieses Projekts veranstalte ich Ausstellungen und alljährlich die Sommerakademie Schloss Homburg. Wir pflegen eine Kooperation mit der FIU, Free International University. FIU wurde von Joseph Beuys u.a. im Jahr 1973 gegründet und die Idee wird seit 1988 informell fortgesetzt. Ich bin Mitglied im IKG, Internationales Künstlergremium, 1976 gegründet von Beuys und anderen. Das ist ein Zusammenschluss von Künstlern international, bis jetzt 240, die sich gegenseitig unterstützen, Netzwerk betreiben und sich auch politisch engagieren.
