along the edge – am rand entlang

Music is a „social power“. The richness of socio-cultural possibilities of experience in music is the breeding ground of the „social in flux“. For this reason, music has a central social function. Why is music so essential for human beings as social beings? It is a matter of primal forces, patterns of action and experience in which a millennia-old experience of humanity manifests itself and which are decisive for conscious as well as unconscious behaviour patterns of human beings and also for their „access to the world“.

Humans are beings gifted in communication with great abilities on the non-verbal level. The analogies between musical and biopsychosocial dynamics describe the phenomena of resonance, synchronisation and regulation as basic factors of dynamic processes in all living systems and especially as decisive conditions of interpersonal relationships.

Carsten Schubert

„Along the Edge“ shows social dissonances such as the situation of the stranded, the refugee or those who have lost themselves and are on the way to finding themselves again. It is also about how to trace what is essential. How to go from the marginal position back to the centre through inner contemplation. Along the Edge also shows the human longing for closeness to nature …“
